The problem

First responders are leaving.
Burnout is why.

EMS has the highest suicide rate of any first responder profession. Most agencies have no formal peer support program. The ones that do rely on volunteers with no tools and no data. Nobody knows how the crew is actually doing until someone doesn't show up.

What first responders are saying

"There's nothing out there like that."

"They would actually use that. Right now it's just Google Docs they create."
— First responder, Connecticut
"99 dollars a month is nothing to them."

Michael Messina
U.S. Army combat veteran. Afghanistan deployment. 10 years as a paramedic in Connecticut. 3 years as a paramedic supervisor. BS in Cybersecurity. I built Mutual Aid because I know what it's like to drive home at 3am after a bad call with nobody to talk to. First responders deserve better than a Google Doc and a hotline number.
For agencies and departments

Departments buy outcomes.
Individuals use the app.

Right now agencies track crew wellness with Google Docs, annual surveys, or not at all. Mutual Aid gives leadership an anonymous aggregate view of how the crew is actually doing, without ever identifying anyone.

Honest pricing
We're still in beta so pricing isn't locked yet. What we know from talking to first responders: $99 to $199 a month is nothing to a department that loses one person to burnout. Recruiting and training a replacement costs $15,000 or more. We plan to be a fraction of that.
